"UNLUCKY STARS" is a film written and directed by Dennis Ruel (from the stunt team The Stunt People), who co-produced the film with Ken Quitugua (from the stunt team Zero Gravity), and Vlad Rimburg, and is inspired by the films of 1980s era Hong Kong Cinema. The film features some amazing acting and stunt talent from across the US, as well as a top notch stunt and fight choreography team run by Vlad Rimburg. At approximately 80% complete, Dennis has launched an INDIEGOGO campaign for the film in hopes of raising funds to not only finish making Unlucky Stars, but to help market and distribute to film festivals and on DVD/BLURAY.

Dennis and everyone involved in the film hopes less to present a "martial arts action" film, but rather a "action comedy" film that everyone can enjoy and be entertained by. The goal is to show an audience that martial arts films can be fun again, and less about the "fight scenes" but much more about the fun characters, adventurous story, and dramatic action scenes pushed by the characters and the world they live in.

Please take some time to view the teaser trailer and INDIEGOGO campaign video, and visit the campaign site (the link is above if you would like to donate) as well as the Facebook page for the film. Please, if you have the time and love the genre, spread the word out, support as much as you can in your own way, and we thank you all for your support and dedication! Any little helps, and we appreciate all your efforts! Let's bring back martial arts cinema!!!

This actually looks great. I can't wait for it to come out... I am doing something similar combining comedy and martial art a web series called Wise Hit shot here in Shanghai, China for the international market.... keep up the good work guys!

Thanks guys! Please, any support you can offer, or please share the teaser trailer and indie gogo link as much as you can! Word of mouth goes a long way, and we want to reach as many people as we can. Thanks in advance!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the IndieGOGO fundraiser! Time is up on it, and we accumulated almost $8K, alongside some other private donations shortly after! We're definintely looking forward to finishing the film this summer, and I'll keep everyone here updated as much as I can. As always, please continue to support the film by sharing the teaser trailer with your favorite people, news blogs (or your own too!), and other media sources to build some more attention! Thank you again! :D

We have been updating our Facebook page via http://www.facebook.com/unluckystarsthemovie with new content such as BTS pics, videos, and other fun shorts leading up to our eventual reveal of our latest trailer! We plan to update the website soon, and have been working on a rough cut of the film. As of now, the film is near the 95% mark, and we hope to complete it by the end of the year. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared the info, and be on the lookout for the new trailer soon! I will post it here when its out. :)

Man, why has there been little love shown for this? I'm gonna attack Vlad and hope that in the moments of him killing me, I can catch a glimpse of this film

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone!! The film is now in post production! Our director Dennis has released a brief thank you message to our indiegogo supporters as well as a BTS featurette on the action in the movie! You can check out both below, and feel free to stay updated with us via Facebook!
