Universal FCP Question

Hey everyone. I'm on the set of a shoot putting together a rough cut in FCP and have a question. I'm using someone elses Macbook Pro which has FCP installed on it. It runs slow and says that it is version 5.0. My question is, is this the Universal version, because I thought that was FCP 5.1? If not, is it runnning under Rosetta and not natively? Just curious if this copy of FCP is not the right one for the Intel Macbook Pro's....thanks

I think you're running under Rosetta. Not a good idea for FCP. Wich shouldn't be slow on a macbook pro.

Yeah, its running under Rosetta. Definitely need to Universal version. Will have to fix that soon. I know that you can upgrade for very little cost if you have a standalone version of FCP. The FCP that we have is academic, so I wonder if they will allow a crossgrade...i know you can't upgrade the academic version..
