F3: Uninstalling the 444 S-Log key

Sorry to have to ask, but I searched online and the supplimental F3 manual and haven't found it anywhere else.

Does anyone know how to uninstall the paid S-Log key so it can be copied back to the SxS card?

For that matter, do I have to use the same card? I have the original card, but I have others too.

Thanks in advance.

No idea whether it needs to be the same card, or if there are any card based limitations.

It should be a menu option. Actually might be called "Options". Choose the option, then uninstall. Have to have the card inserted.

Not certain about the same card. Possibly requires the same card. And you will also need to enter the 4 digit passcode you had set at time of installation.

I think the card has to have a hidden folder or separated formated area. Like a logical drive on a physical drive.

Is there no uninstall option buried in the menu? I was always under the impression that any card could be used to take it off, but safest bet obviously would be the same card.

Someone must have the answer to this. hm..

Any card other then the original will work but Sony does not guarantee it.

1. Insert original card into A or B slot.

2. Display Others menu and format the card with "Format Media".

3. Display Others and select "Remove Option"

4. Select "RGB".

5. Enter password and press the jog dial. A confirmation message and "Execute/Cancel" are displayed.

6. Select "Execute". When moving ends successfully a message " Remove Software Key/ OK: Turn Power off" is displayed. Turn power off then back on .

The card will now be protected against writing, loading or deleting of file and formatting.

Supporting Banolan's post.

It keeps the key on a hidden partition. Any SxS card will work, but then again, who wants to risk it?

Gotta have the 4-digit PIN number that you set upon first install to remove it to card (so people can't steal it off a rental camera).
