understanding foucs with fstop and Z00

Ok Ive searched here and read Barrys book a few times. When the cam is set at full wide Z00 i read that MF37 will keep everything from 1' to Inf. in focus if you are at F4. So what happens if i close the iris more is there any way to figure out what focus should be set at at full wide.Hope this question makes sense.

If you close the iris more, the depth of field will increase. MF37 is only about a foot in front of the lens, so you probably don't need much more do you? The best way to focus is to zoom all the way in (MF99), focus, then zoom out to where ever you want to be.
