Under estimating the remote

The remote control is not talked about at all. I use it often in my shoots callng action with the red button in my hand. It helps when a camera is locked off to, just to make sure the thing doesnt budge from take to take, and last of all, it does have a zoom function that can be used to a limited extent for framing. Not a controller, but worth a mention.

Re: Under estimating the remote

For certain shots I use my remote for the sake of not getting that little bump or jerk when you press the button on the camera. I don't use it that often though.

I also like using it cause it relaxes the actors when I am not hogged over the camera looking through the eye piece. If it is a planned shot, like PSA's I mean or a locked off interview . . . I expose and frame then walk up to them and walk them through it. Sometimes I will try running a take with the remote and sort of keep them company but remain out of frame. Has worked a couple of times.
