And of course; I speak strickly from wanting to do narrative film projects. I do not want to do documentary, live event work or weddings.

I have to say, that 20X lens is a major factor for some people, especially those of use who've used DVX's and wished for even 16X like the XL1/XL1S. Honestly, that 10X lens on the DVX may be why I recommend the GL2 for my company's next purchase rather than more DVX's...

har har, I knew this would bite me in the butt. I thought I did, but then I discovered the XL2 has native 16:9. So now I dont know what to do again.
 
Oh theres no way I would purchase a GL2. but John had some nice opinions and you guys have really cleared things up for me. I appreciate all the input.

But, I still have till March to decide what Im going to buy, but I have spent countless hours watching footage, reading specs, user reviews, cnet.com, etc. Its a lot harder decision than I thought it was going to be when I was first interested in a camera back in August. Anywho, I will let you guys know what I have purchased when the time comes.
 
Yeah, I know how it is--you've never truly made up your mind until the camera's in your hand and there's no way you can return it anymore. :)

For the things I use a camera for, the GL2 is actually preferable to the XL2 because of the LCD. When you've got the thing on a tripod for I-MAG, viewfinders just don't cut it. The question is, can I deal with the audio limitations?

Yeah, I guess your right guys... but that's why I said pretty sure:smile: . It's a "squeezed" 16:9 that un-squeezes on widescreen TVs (or when put on a DVD it automatically letter boxes). I used it or a movie a little while back though and I thought it looked pretty good.
