Unable to open native HVX files

Lucky Duck
A friend of mine sent me over some files from a shoot I did but I can't get them to open. He is on a Mac, I'm on a PC.

The files do not have any extension appendage. I tried adding the appendage .mxf to one of them to see if it would open but it would not.

I tried it with the P2 viewer (which worked on other HVX files from an entirely different shoot) and it didn't work. Does teh AUDIO-CLIP-ICON-PROXY-VIDEO-VOICE directory need to be in place to enable the P2 viewer to read the files? I tried doing that but all the other directories are empty (aside from the Video one, of course)...do I need supporting files?

I also have Vegas and Premiere Pro CS3 and the latter crashed twice when I tried to import the newly renamed .mxf file...

Anyone?

Steven,

Just sitting here looking at the files on one of my P2 cards in my Mac and they all have extensions.
I always thought you were supposed to copy over the Contents folder in its entirety.

Can he re-send them to you?

The audio, clip, video and icon folders all have files in them on the P2 card I'm looking at.
Have him send you the entire contents folder.
