Hi everyone,

I'm working with 1 and half hour show and experencing difficulty when trying to export self-contained QT file. The system just froze when at 100%. I got enough hard drive space and did the video and audio mixdown before export but it keeps freezing when the export almost done. I tried to export a shorter segment of the same sequence of about 5 min and it works fine. Please advise on what to do. Thank you very much!

BTW, I'm using Mojo SDI with Avid 5.6.2 and Quicktime version 7.0.4.

Thanks Michael!

I'm using "same as source" option with "Avid Codec" to export since I'm working with DV50. I can't use QT ref file because it will be use on a different computer. I'm advised to use QT version 7.1 to solve the problem, do you think it's the case? Thanks!

BTW, I don't think it's the 2gb limit since it's in QT.

why does Avid have a 2GB limit anyway? I hate FCP but when I use it it doesnt have that limitation...?

Doesn't Avid span a clip over multiple files in the event of breaking the 2GB file size limit?

It should not be a 2gb error....btw back in the old day when a big hard drive was considered to be 2gb, most video editing programs put a limit on exports so you wouldn't cache out your drive.

Anyways, how many video tracks do you have. I suggest rendering all tracks first and possibly downmixing. Then export QT same as source with avid codec.

This happened to me once when i was exporting a 3 hour sequence. It locked at 100% for a long time...it took 2 hours to get off 100%. It was best for us to export at night and let it run til the morning.

Thank you very much, everyone! Installing QT 7.1 doesn't solve the problem, either. However, exporting the sequence with video only worked. Thanks again!
