"Unable to change source on clip" with hvx files

I am trying to change the source name of clips from the hvx in avid. I get the error "Unable to change source on clip <clipname> Could not find existing source information".

Any idea what would be causing this? We need to be able to do this to offline in SD on another system and then bring the bin back over with the sequence.
 
I am trying to change the source name for the clips within avid inside of a bin - right click, modify, source and the put in a new tape name and assign it - thats when i get the error

is it possible you cannot give hvx files tape names?
 
I changed the ones I have on the "HVX200 clips" section on this site (Sundance clips) for folks to download. I did it in Explorer. I don't seem to remember anyone having trouble playing those. Have you downloaded any of them?
 
I am not talking about the filename in explorer - i am talking about the source name (tape name) in avid - this is used to avoid timecode conflicts.

For example if you start the timecode at 00:00:30:00 for 2 different shoots and import them into the same project you need to have a tape name to differentiate the clips.

Normally you can change the tape name for a clip by right clicking on it and using modify, source - this does not work with the hvx mxf files
