Eye been off the ball for a bit so could anyone let me know if the price on an HVX has been realeased for the UK/European market yet.... if so whats the damage!
Cheers
I'm not sure, but I think you have to add taxes to that prize (5.990 EUR) also...:thumbdown
I also can't wait to see the prize...but I think it's going to be quite high...I have been preparing for something like 7.000 EUR, so there's not so much room for disappointment...of course without P2 cards... God dammet, did I say 7.000...that is hell amount of money...
weeks ago, I asked MPEC-GmbH about that and they told me, that:
1. they were Panasonic Premium retailer
2. Panasonic was shipping the cams in March, but
3. preordered customers would recieve their cams first, so
4. without preorder, the date was likely to be somewhen in May...
That's all I know. ... And the fact, that 5'990 Euro without taxes is still way too much. But it's the list price and I guess that says everything. Who pays the list-price? - Well, you shouldn't ... As for me, I don't have any project waiting to be done in HD, so I'll wait until at least late summer before I start seriously looking for an adaequat price. Panasonic's list prices usually drop up to easily 33% within the first 10 months. So, don't hurry... And 2nd: there will be A LOT PAL-countries selling the HVX, so what about comparing the prices when the camera is about to arrive in the last PAL-country...
We won´t know pricing until the cam really comes out. The list say 5990. But with the slowness of US sales we might be waitng until June or July before they ship here. Then hopefully the P2 devices will be lower too.
Cheers Cici....
You've kinda hit the nail on the head for me as to the problems....
Yes, 5595 + VAT is way way too much but as per alpi69's post below I hope that Panny are just sticking a finger in the wind with that figure. I 'm not sure that the price is going to drop that much... well in the UK anyway, in the forseeable future esp with the aticipated demand. Much as it is appealing the actual purchase of the HVX in anything but the home market is I guess for most is a non-starter. The warrantee would be a nightmare to enforce against say a Danish dealer from the UK. Companies call the UK "Treasure Island" due to the mark-up they can get away with here... I doubt that there going to undermine that by helping an individual with repairs etc. I seem to have spent half my life waiting for panny products!
