UK election night in Sunderland

[GaryNattrass]

I did an HD pool camera for SKY and ITV on thursday night so here is a pic of the main hardware on the election count at Sunderland.

Apart from BBC local news everyone had HD camera's up and the BBC had a 10 camera visions truck and tender with a jib and helicopter outside for the ballot boxes coming in.

I did a hand held outside which was then re-positioned onto the main media platform and you can see it on the right atop a vinten vision 22 tripod. The camera's we used were sony HDC-1500R's and we had three of them for pool coverage, the BBC were using the visions Thompson heads and they are the two on the left and the one on the floor with a wireless link manned by the legend that is Phil Piotrowsky, the two in the middle are panasonic HPX-3000 P2 camera's with HD/SDI out's for SKY presentation on a sep sat link.

Cool, looked a bit like my two days during the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo on news stand, allthough we didn't have that many crews around us. Ihlas News used Pdw530 + SNG truck and NRK used pdw530 on some sort of Strata link. I had my Hpx500 and two PDW700 feeding 3 separate sat links trough Mediatec's SNG truck, all SD...no HD in EBU News yet.

Cameras on link testing...waiting for reporters to show up.(taken with the worst mobile phone camera ever..).
