Uh Oh - maybe street price is going up

I think they had a mistake out there in the first place and finally realized it. I was a little surprized that they had discounted it before it even delivered. This price is more typical of their past pricing behavior.

why is it that this is the type of mistake that happens. Why cant it be that someone mistakenly releases HVX footage :)
 
That I can assure you that there will be no mistake on that, if I have any control. I may not have control at IBC, but if the camera is not ready for prime time, then footage should not be released. That is my personal opinion.

I remember the long drawn out discussions of the DVX footage when it was first shown. It was definately disheartening, people were dissing it before they gave it a chance. I think the same was true for the Sony camera, so if footage is released, it should be good footage done with purpose and forthought. The only camera that did not have that problem was the SDX900. The first footage shot and released on line was from Abel Cine Tech and we were working with them. The next clips came from DPs, that bought the camera. That was a much better working scenario. Anyhow as soon as we have good stuff to show, we will.

Got it, sometimes I just take things too literally. But ya know I am pretty excited too and can't wait. It will be the longest plane ride. ;-)

A little off topic here (since we're discussing price), but has the weight for the HVX been determined yet? Is it around 5 lbs.?
