DVX100 - pretty much right out of the box -
I record some stuff, turn camera off - record again -
the end of the previous taping is all messed up with
the horizontal lines of nasty dv noise -

and it's a Panasonic tape -

is this normal? try another tape? clean the heads?

Re: Ugly tape - cause for alarm?

I had a crapload of dropouts for the first 5 or so minutes of my camera.. I suggest recording about 15 minutes and then seeing if it goes away.

Re: Ugly tape - cause for alarm?

i know this has been repeated over and over but only use panasonic mq tapes in this camera to prevent head wear and minimize dropouts.

Hey Jeff,
Great last name, aside from that I had the same issue with my DVX out of the box...once you record for awhile it does away.
