okay so i film and edit a snowboard short and it looks great on the computer (a little more master ped is how i like it, kinda hazy), and the blacks are really milky just how i like em and i burn it to a dvd and play it on my tv and the blacks are soo much darker and ugh i do not enjoy the image. im going to be starting my full length skate video soon and do not want to have a video not look how i want it to. so it looks great on my comp but not on a tv right now. what do i do? hook it up with rca to a tv and adjust the flip out viewfinder so it looks right? how do i do this? because it goes kinda like this right now, and i havent messed with the presets of the viewfinder at all: viewfinder looks as if the master ped is quite high, imported it gives me a little darker blacks, and on a tv just hideously black. i want it to be all milky like on the computer for the final product, so how do i do this??

thanks
ben

Try it on more than one tv. See what they are all looking like. Match up your monitor closest to the average of the tv's.

That's about all I can think of. Everyone's tv will be set up differently so you can't do much about that part.

instead, try using your Video Scopes.

This will fgive you a EXACT numerical readout of what the black levels are in the image.

for most TV's 7.5 IRE is black. if you like milky, make your contrast lower. and make sure the lowest point of your image levels dont go lower than liek... IRE 10 or something.
