Uganda's First Action Film - "Who Killed Captain Alex?"

Thanks for that... I guess :)... that was the most exhausting 1 minute 39 seconds I've had in a long time. I think I'd need to go to a Shaolin Temple and train for 5 years to gain the strength and endurance to watch the whole feature. There was a documentary I watched some time ago about the film industry in Nigeria, which is called, appropriately enough, Nollywood - it was quite fascinating. These guys make do with a fraction of a fraction of what even a no-budget production has here in the States. It's quite humbling to see how hard they work and the obstacles they have to overcome. I guess all film industries started the same way, cheap and dodgy quality flicks mass produced, and in time budgets and competence goes up and you get some real artistry as well as entertainment. The exact same thing happened here in Hollywood. Not to mention Hong Kong. I wish them the best.

I know we are all blown away by the carefully staged and executed lifelike martial arts stunts, frightfully realistic weapons play and seamless "slick" editing style. But friends, it was the sensitive and thought provoking dialogue combined with the provocative use of voice-over that made me go back and watch it again.

Actually it was my partner, who yelled from the other room "what the hell are you watching?" Thanks Barry kinda like Saturday morning cartoons of my childhood.

Thanks for posting. I like how the buildings sort of melt instead of blowing up and falling down. And the guy with the machine gun at :55. I've never seen a machine gun kick that much!

I enjoy seeing how other cultures portray things; Japanese television is phenomenal and Bollywood can be a tremendous amount of fun. This is my first exposure to Ugandan programming, and I have no idea if it is representative or not, but I found the trailer highly enjoyable.

Good thing they didn't shoot blanks. That could have caused another war to break out. They probably had the best time ever shooting this. The martial arts are fricken awesome!

Extended version.
