I'll pick it up just to see our baby in action

also in the video "All because of you" all the footage that you see behind Bono it's straight outta DVX, they had one strapped to the flat bed truck, so that's two DVXs that have been spotted on that vid.

did u guys see good mornig america today? they showed bono greeting fans in chicago and the DVD crew was there again, with 3 DVXs, two guys and a woman,
I think they will broadcast it again on Saturday

Most record companies hire guys with DV cameras to shoot behind the scenes stuff. Thats probably what you are seeing. Real concert footage is shot on more robust formats.

I was at the concert in Vancouver and I saw the cams being used to shoot the bulk of the DVD footage were varicams and 35mm film used as a crane cam. I was at the music video as well and they used film. I talked to the AV pit and they grab a lot of footage for all kinds of uses like to mix live in the concert or if the producers of the DVD like they'll mix in some DVX footage. So really it's a little biased to say that all of the footage for the DVD will come from the DVX.

I watched U2´s Go Home! DVD and the first impression is that those guys used hundreds and hundreds of film camera to shoot all the angles they could think.

Then, I watched again and began to notice a slight difference of texture between some shots and others. I´m seriously convinced that SOME shots, from unusual places, were made with small prosumer cameras, maybe DVX100. You almost don´t notice, ´cause, as i said, the cuts are very fast and the color correction is professional.

If you want to check it out, pay attention especially on the shots made from the public.

And you'd be correct. As I said a concert is shot on professional cameras, but the record company also has others shooting the tour on small DV cameras. In the end as much footage as they can find is always good.

Walter, I guess using small prosumer cameras was part of the initial concept of the DVD. They wanted to make people think: "how many cameras are these guys using? 100, 200?"

The shots with (what I SUPPOSE are prosumer cameras) are so fast in the final cut that you can´t notice the difference, but the result is really awesome.

I just remembered something: there were "DV camera operators" in the final credits. I checked that information because I was suspecting they used small DV cameras. Maybe DVXs.
