JP, very well produced video, congratulations.

And you've found yourself a very good Steadi OP there. It's a brave OP who would shoot for a video where his work is going to be overcranked like that, very smooth work.

A very polished video indeed:beer:

yo JP, its hot. cant wait to see it with CC.

I like the scene when he goes to get his 2 stripes at the end where it looks grainy and gritty as ****.

is that because you had no lights in there?? or is it style?

Adam its style of course....Noway to light/ bounce inside the space with STEADICAM so I had to light from outside....I like the look, it works with the moment. I'm trying a few CC's as is John Hudson...will post soon as...plus all the extras...

Pookie, high praise from the master...thanks for having a look, will pass on your comments to Jason, who I have glued to my hip forever...hes got something special and was a joy to work with...

Hey
I liked all the speed up stuff. It was able to tell longer story in a shorter amount of time. I liked the story as well. WOuld like to have seen maybe a few parts where the guy is singing with the song... Liked the women too..
Brian

Hector,
We made a conscious decision not to mime in this video...I am working on a new one for a different band and I'm exploring some unusual miming techniques...
Thanks for watching....
More comments everyone....

Production stills are on the way....

The tune was good and I thought the video was pretty good too. The only shot that seemed to have hung around longer than all the others is when the contract is given to the lead singer at the beginning. The one scene behind the curtain obviously needs some lighting help in post...it'll be interesting to see what your accomplice comes up with (CC).

Sweet video. Great concept! I appreciate how long you stayed on the shots, tough to do these days when it seems like you can't watch a simple interview without 50 cuts in it.

Thanks for the comments on the quality of the steadi work. I think the video as a whole works extremely well and is well suited to the use of the steadicam - not only the obvious steadi sequences but also the smaller movements and pushes. The fast speed sections look good too - helps to reduce the number of cuts and keeps the story moving and in touch with the track.

Having worked with all the usual MiniDV cameras I think I can say the DVX is the best, as you can see the stuff we got looks fantastic Goes in my weight cage easily enough, camera is comparitively easy to set up & controls are easy to access.

The section in the backstage 'room' after the singer leaves the stage (if I can call it a room - more like a closet) was a nightmare for the director to light. Literally the space we had to work in is what you can see on the video - I backed out of the room through an unseen doorway to get the trainers shot. The gritty/grainy style fits in well with the current stage in the story though.

It was a pleasure to meet and work with such an excellent director and a very useful camera. Thanks again for your comments, especially pookie  and to JP for the kind words - looking forward to plenty more of the same work with you in the future.

That was great! I love the story and clownishness of the beginning. The speed up/slowdown effect was used perfectly.

However I too wish that there were some performance shots of the band in there miming to their song.

But on the other hand, you did something some people just won't do, and thats tell a story with their video. I've seen way too much straight performance videos, and I don't like most of it. This was a great breath of fresh air. Congrats man.

Can't wait to see the CC version......Hurry Hudson hurry!!!

Very nice JP -- I always prefer watching a story unfold rather than watching the band lip-sync to the lyrics. I particularly enjoyed the vaccum cleaner in the alley. MORE VACCUM CLEANER IN THE ALLEY PLEASE!

Great work! I too am impressed by how smooth the steadicam was even when the footage was speed up. Great music as well.

Guys, thanks for the amazing comments. Everyone seems to like it, through the release of the vid, a signed act want the team to do their next video, so it's all good. Still waiting on the stills (NPI) will post soon as, John!! where are you??? Hows the CC comming on?
