1st question: I've had my DVX for a while and ive been wondering, what is dvcpro? and can the DVX shoot in it?
2nd question: I've been having some difficulty figuring out the correct sequence settings and capture settings in FCP for 24pa and 24p with letterbox, and I was wondering what the correct procedure to get the 24p footage and the correct capture and sequence settings

Thanks for your time,
Aaron

DVCPro is MiniDV's BIG brother. It's a high end professional format, and the DVCPro codec is utilised in programs like FCP. There are a number of flavours of DVCPro (25, 50 and 100), each being a higher quality. No, the DVX cannot shoot in it.

alright thanks dude i was just wondering haha

For FCP, if you shot in 24pa and in letterbox (not squeeze), you will want to capture with the 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal setting in the capture settings tab. If you shot in regular 24p, then you do not need to remove the pulldown. This is something introduced while recording to give a more accurate (and higher quality) 24p capture on tape.

DV and DVCPRO 25 are basically the same thing. DVCPRO is the pro type, but they are both compressed and stored the same way. The 100 shoots in dv. DVCPRO 50 or DVCPRO HD are much better but the 100 cant shoot um.
