Two questions DNxHD and Academic Composer

Last night I installed DNxHD quicktime onto my computer and I cannot export the format from Combustion or Vegas or any other program. I don’t see in the QuickTime menu with DNxHD in the list. I guess my question is that how to export DNxHD from Vegas or Combustion.

Second question is that what is the difference between Academic Composer and "real" Composer?

When you say "installed DNxHD quicktime" what do you mean? What did you install exactly?

Assuming that everything is correct on your system in the Quicktime Compression settings you should have "Avid DNxHD Codec" as a selectable option. If you don't then the answer to my first question might clue me in as to what's going on.

Regarding Composer, the difference is that the Academic Media Composer can only be purchased by educational institutions and you're not allowed to make money with it.
 
I have download the DNxHD codec for Quicktime from AVID web site and installed on my system. But when I export in quicktime I don't see AVID listed as one of the option encoder.

yes that is what I downloaded and installed on my computer but I cannot export DNxHD codec because when I choose Quicktime as option I cannot see AVID codec
