Two Questions About The Interface

1) How do I size up each Video Track so that some are different in size than others (I noticed this on the box, and it could be useful)?

2) How do I get a visual representation of the audio to appear in the timeline in wave form inside of each audio clip?

Just click and drag to expand the size of the video track using the V1 icon on the left of the track.

To see audio waveforms use the hamburger menu at the bottom of the timeline and select "Sample Plot" (this will slow down your refresh as you pan across the timeline since it has to be redrawn as the view changes)

In timeline settings you can choose "show marked waveform" and Avid will draw the waveform only between in and out points. That might be helpful to you.

Thanks! I am a Final Cut User trying to learn the Avid. Everytime I learn how to use a new technique in Avid, the editing always seems to go easier than in Final Cut.

good call krestofre... much better to display only the parts you need. thanks for the tip!
