Two questions about Merlin and wide lense

Does Merlin support quick release - could I put my camera on it without screwing like Glidecam 2000? Like tripod plate.
Would it be the best solution (Merlin) for my Sony 2100+battery+wide lense? Or Glidecam 2000 more comfortable?

And the other question: What the best wide angle lense (0.5) for Sony 2100?

Sorry for the slow reply...

The Merlin has a built in quick-release system that also includes a peice for your exsisting tripod. Everything is included that is needed to instantly move your camera between Merlin and another camera mount (your tripod).

The Merlin is much more comfterble than the GC2K. If you can afford the Merlin, then it's definatly worth it.

I can't really speak to the best lens in terms of quality. But a lighter lens will definatly help benefit your operating.

Thanks, Mikko!
I've ordered Merlin...
I wanna fly with it like David Perry does. ( www.davidperryfilms.com ), but as I know, he works with glidecam2000. Is it possible to fly so smooth with Merlin like he does with GC2K?
And one more question: can I make low-to-the-ground shots with Merlin?

Congratulations on your purchase, you will not be dissapointed.

Yes and Yes.

Merlin flies smoother (in my oppinion...) than the Glidecam. Through when you are getting down to that line of prescision, it becomes more and more about the operator.

Both Merlin and Glidecam can get the camera down to about a foot from the ground, which is generally low enough.
Neither unit really performs "low mode" (upside down) paticularly well, though either one can be made to work upside down if you really need to get low for a shot.

Thank you, Mikko!
Can't wait my Merlin... wanna fly :)
I also want to buy a wide angle lense. Don't you know, is Raynox is good enough?
