TWO New Features Shot Simultaneously

Last late Summer and Fall I shot two features at the same time here in New York with the HPX500.

We have just put up preliminary websites for both films with Temp trailers so cast and crew can enjoy.

I thought because this DVX USER site has been such a helpful resource to me that I would follow the lead of SOOO many other filmmakers here and share my experiences as we go.

The first film is thiller/romance entitled "Night for Day".

I wrote, produced and directed. Shot over several months for a total of about 25 Days (average days were about 4 hours) for a budget of under $35,000. Combo of HPX and HVX. All on location in NYC and Long Island.

The temp site is here at:

www.nightfordaymovie.com

The Second film is a Wedding comedy entitled "The Video Guys" that was shot entirely with the same HPX (during the same time period) That I co-produced and shot with a partner Dan Brennan.
Again about 30 days, (somewhat longer days) for around the same budget (maybe a little more)

That Site is:

www.videoguysthemovie.com

Once again both sites are in the stage where you just want to get something out to show the fruits of your progress to the many talented actors and crew who put their effort in and need to start seeing some results. Both sites will improve and have added functionality, but i share them here in the spirit of DVX user for all to see the stuff these filmammakers can do now with these cameras on limited budgets.

Again I have been a member of this site from just about the sart. I don't post here often,(only when i feel I truly have something relevant to say) and i am very grateful for DVXUSER and all the participation and transparency of the indi filmmakers in this particular section. Your Information continues to be invaluable.

Thanks and I will try to keep up to date as these films finish post production.

Thanks !!! Both were real fun to do.
An amazing exrercise in time management and stress tolerance trying to produce two at the same time and still pay the bills! I wouldn't trade it though.

Yeah Video guys is a funny one. A tribute to all the wedding videographers out there.

While "Night for Day" is a sexy thriller.

Either way in both make sure both films have plenty of beautiful people!!! makes your days on the sets go real smooth.

Both trailers were awesome, however "Video Guys" looks like the better story. By the end of the trailer you had this connection with the characters and didn't want it to end. I can't wait to see the whole movie.

Thanks guys. They are obviously completely different genres.
I was sure "Video Guys" would go over big on THIS forum though... just look at the subject matter and who my audience is... a bunch of video guys...ha ha.

Both are in post. Night for Day is cut and is in sound mix... should be another month as i approve final score and mixdown. "Video Guys" had some technical hiccups, so it is a bit behind schedule. It is currently, still in the final stages of its first cut. Maybe another couple of months for that one.

We will do screenings in NYC and the surrounding area theaters when finished and then they will go to the festival circuit, while seeking other DVD distribution channels at the same time. I will keep you all posted on both.
"Night for Day" should get its "Behind the scenes" video up soon (another week or so) as well as an extended interview with me about directing and acting in indi film.
I'll drop a note when both are up on that site.

Thanks for your interest.
