Two girls

wow. i refuse to believe this is gh1. low light footage without a single sign of FPN, banding etc? you pulling my leg buddy!

Ha... I guess I should be flattered.
What would you guess, then.... 7D?

This wasn't low light... I had 2600 watts of Arri light blasting at these ladies in the performance shots. For the vignette I mostly had a 300 alone, or in conjunction with a 650.

yeah i would guess 7d...well great job. loved the video. very professioanlly done. which arri lights did you use?
by the way i always hated the bokeh of 1.4 50mm nikon and it's the main reason why I didn't buy it but i see that you made artistic use of that nikon's particularly sharp bokeh

For people with real knowledge of how to properly lit a scene that should be no problem. And this video again proves it. If someone thinks that just putting a fast lens will bring magic to the camera in the dark they are totally wrong. Investing in good lights is as important as investing in a good lens. Excellent job done on this piece!

Lol.... yep, she's the real singer. It's quite surprising as she's a somewhat bookish, good looking, small girl but really belts it out.
This is the band:

I really like metal so I have no problems with the vocals... but when I'm making a video I kinda treat the music as sound, not a song... so whether I like it or not ends up being irrelevant.

I'd like to be able to take credit for making "artistic use of the bokeh" but, quite honestly, I just like shallower DOF. My kit has a 1000w, 2x650w, and one 300w.

'We' wrote the script. I storyboarded the first scene but we kind of went by the seat of our pants for the rest although we knew where we wanted to end up. It's related to the lyrics but I know you can't understand what she's saying.
It's kind of the metal version of the Dixie Chicks 'Earl' video.... if you've ever seen that one.

BTW - the ungraded footage is a lot lighter, particularly in the stroryline.
Just noting this so newer folks aren't thinking "2600 watts and it's only that bright?"

Also most of this was shot at ISO 100, and pretty high shutter speeds.
