Two cameras: 100 & 100A, what do I need to be aware of?

I thought I saw a thread somewhere about shooting with a 100 & 100A, but alas after many searches I couldn't find it...

So, I'm going to be on a shoot in a week or two that will combine my 100A and the director'100; are their any settings, configurations, or issues we should be aware of before we begin?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thanks guys.

just match all the settings and youll be fine.

So, you mean use only the settings that appear in the 100, e.g. don't use one of the newer gamma curves?

Note that the 100 needs to have sync offset by 2 frames..

What's that reason for that?

Definitely don't use anything on the 100A that the 100 doesn't have. Then you'll also need to perform a manual white balance on both cameras. If you have a monitor where you can a/b switch between them, that'd be the best, but if not, you can try to match them by setting the settings the same and manually white-balancing. You will probably have to adjust a bit in post -- the updated prism in the 100A does make the footage look different. It can be compensated for (mostly) in the menus, but it takes a bit of tweaking and looking at an A/B comparison on a monitor.

Sync issues- Because the 24 -> 60 conversion takes place in the camera the original DVX didn't buffer to compensate for this, hence the 2 frames out of sync. FCP has a plugin to deal with this. Some people get away without adjusting but if you use a clapper you'll see the effect.

I had heard that the 100A has faster DSP than the 100. Not sure if this makes a big difference but when the 100A first came out a few people reported slight differences in picture matching.
