Hi Lenny, don't know if you remember me, I bought your Kamio light a few years back for use on our Red.
At any rate, what type of workflow are you guys using with the Alexa? I may have to shoot on one for an upcoming project and was trying to get a head start.

Thanks!

Dave

Don't know what Lenny recommends: We currently shoot with an Alexa (and the AG-AF for special shots) and go with Prores 444 to Avid Media Composer 5. Works like charm so far.

You use Af100 as B-cam for Alexa? What kind of shots you delegate? How do they intercut/grade?
I am thinking of using Af100 as b-cam to F3.
Does Avid have prores now?

We will not use the AG-AF as B-cam in the usual sense so we do not intercut within scenes material from the two cams. We will use the AG-AF for special shots - time lapse, establishing shots, athmospherec things, city life, sunrise - stuff like that - becasue we have not the time/budget to do that with the ARRI.

So the possible differences in the material will no t be so harsh (at least that is what we hope) and to an untrained eye they should be acceptable. We also may include some shots with a GH13 or GH2 hanging on an octocopter.

My editor will transcode material to MFX-Files for editing, but we will later online the Prores 444 and transfer to HDcam SR. So I guess the media composer 5 does work with it. Will ask my editor.

We are in the beginning of shooting, we will know more in about a week or so.
