Two Camera Shoot - One Mic?

Doing a 2 camera shoot soon. Only have one mic. Plan is with the equipment I have to record all sound on Camera A(through a mixer), and shoot no sound cam B. Idea is to sync using slate... should this work, or are there problems I can't think of? Or should I use the on camera mic on cam B and use that as a guide track???
Thanks.

Use the mic on camera B as a guide as well as the sticks and a good mic to your A camera.
I have done multicamera shoots and used this method everytime with great success.

Another way that has worked for me with no problems is a camera flash. At one point while both cameras are rolling, point them at a camera (or just the flash) and sync through the high point of the flash. If this is a film shoot, you may want to stick with the slates. I use this primarily for weddings.

There's no good reason not to record audio on camera 2, is there? Use the on-camera mic, use it as a guide track, and -- who knows, maybe it'll save you in case there's interference on camera 1's audio, or something else happens where you need to use it. Better to have it, and not need it, than to not have it and need it.
