Hey guys
It appears there are two book by the great Barry Green and I just wondered if the second one was a replacement for the first or if I should plan to buy both?
thanks

Well, correction -- the yellow one covers ALL the HMC cameras, so it covers HMC40, HMC80, and HMC150.

The older "The HMC150 Book" was for just the HMC150. The newer "The HMC Book" is a revised/expanded version. The older version is out of print, and I'm still selling it while I have the remaining units in stock, but when they're gone they're gone. The older book is smaller, the newer book is much larger. And the newer book not only adds more info about the newer cameras, but it also was revamped to provide more introductory-level information too. Especially with the addition of the very-low-cost HMC40, it seemed like a lot of new shooters would be getting these cameras as their first pro cameras, so I restructured a lot of the book to provide a lot of basic information, as well as all the technical info that the HMC150 Book had.

If someone has an HMC150 and wants to save $20, and they're not an absolute beginner, then sure, go with the HMC150 Book, as long as stocks last.

If someone has an HMC40 or HMC80, definitely go with The HMC Book. Or, if they're a newer user/beginner or have never had any type of pro camcorder before, I'd recommend The HMC Book.

Also, keep in mind for a new buyer in the USA, that The HMC Book is included in the box with official authorized Panasonic USA camcorders. If you're a USA resident buying an HMC new, you don't have to order either, you'll get a copy of the latest book in the box.

I wish I had known that Barry. I bought the HMC 150 from B&H in December but it didn't state the book was included so I bought the HMC 150 book as well. So I spent $70more and now I have two books I don't need. Great book though.

lol- well i bought from BH and just haven't went and got the box from my place of employment due to crazy holiday schedules... i guess it will be waiting on me! awesome

Barry:
Any idea about how I can get The HMC Book in Canada? The Amazon.com link won't accept a Canadian shipping address and Amazon.ca doesn't even have the product listed. Thanks.

And why does it take more than a month to Europe?
That is the main reason I quit selling direct to europe and instead put my products with Holdan in the UK. You should be able to get the product within a day or two, or even buy it at your local dealer now. The shipping and customs situation to Europe is just silly -- our post office claims that they will deliver in 3 to 5 days, but that's just a lie -- it always takes at least 21 days. Whether that's the fault of our post office, or the european post office, or the european customs officials, I don't know and can't say, but wherever the fault lies, there's nothing I can do about it (other than to charge $40 to have DHL deliver it, which is unreasonable). So the approach I've taken is to list it with www.holdan.co.uk, who is a major distributor throughout Europe, and has hundreds of dealerships throughout the continent. They are currently carrying The AF100 Book and The HMC Book. The HMC150 Book is an older discontinued product, which is still being sold as long as I have them in stock, but when they're gone, they're gone.
