Is there a way in avid to "copy" the A2 track and then "paste" it to a new track on the bottom called "A3"?

I mean if one of the tracks audio is bad... like if I used the on camera mic for the right channel and a boom mic for the left channel... i want to double up on the boom mic's audio.. for instance.

Is there a way to easily to this on the timeline editor? via "copy"/duplicate and "paste" of some sort

Thanks,

JM

You could just center pan the original clips via the special menu (select clips first). This way just an A1 or A2 edit will come out both speakers without the need to duplicate edits.

I clicked on the audio clip on the timeline to highlite/select it. Then I went to Avid's "special" menu, but the only thing selectable is device and fullscreen playback?

Also, is there any way to copy clips and paste it on the timeline? For both audio and video. If i want to copy just a portion of a prior video on the timeline and then paste it further along on the timeline.

Thanks,

JM

yes, you can copy from one sequence to another using in and out points. It'll add that duration to your timeline so usually however much you add to a timeline, thats how much you'll have to remove in order to keep everything in sync.
if that makes any sense.
You can also throw a sequence in the source window and just use it as a source.

You could also set an in and out around what you want to copy, and hit option+C to bring that section into your source window. Then you can cut it in just like any other clip.
