Twilight Saga: New moon

Looking at other "chick flicks", interestingly the genre with often the most progressive and pro-active female protagonists are romantic comedies...or action films directed by James Cameron.

Maybe James Cameron needs to make a romantic comedy-action film hybrid. I could see it being sorta in the same vein as True Lies, but the main character would obviously be female.

Nektonic could rock out a good "Transylmania" review also, if you can drag him away from the director's commentary on the "Terminator: Salvation" DVD. :D

Actually, I haven't yet had a chance to pop in my Blu-ray copy of Terminator Salvation. Although I would have done drastically different things with a future war Terminator film, I really enjoyed Salvation. Maybe tonight I'll get around to seeing the Director's Cut?

I doubt Transylmania could live up to the epic "so bad I can't seem to look away or change the channel" quality of that killer Pinata movie.

It's now at $628M worldwide today and it crossed over $1 BILLION worldwide gross for the first two movies.

This is amazing.

I'm with you Sad Max, I hope Avatar does well but they will have close to $500M in it with marketing. The good news is 2009 is going down in history as the highest grossing box office year ever and Avatar and the rest of the Christmas slate is about to roll out. Expect close to $10B for 2009.

This is amazing.

Amazing and somewhat depressing, since it's crap, but such is the power of teeenage girls. Cameron played to the same audience in Titanic to similar results, but at least he delivered a good film (and don't get started, I'm not Titanic's biggest fan but I can at least acknowledge that it is good filmmaking).

Looks like the final book Breaking Dawn will be made into two movies that are going to be shown back to back.

"They made a book outta that movie?"

i heard some tween retard say this at Target yesterday.....

"Idiocracy" is a movie that may punch us in the face with relevance before we know it.

Yea, they have made several books out of those movies. I guess people will be reading two in a row now :) Any kid who can read a 1,200 page book will never have a chance in the corporate world BTW.
