Twelfth Street

Nothing to do in this boring place, so I grabbed my new-to-me DVX and headed for the edge of town. I'm going to edit together a scenic short from the 20 minutes of footage I have, but haven't found a good score to go with it. If anyone sees these stills and feels compelled to mix something together, let me know.

Here's several untouched stills:

I was really pleased with the sunset shots. Being on an overlook at the right time can lead to some great footage.

I'm in Vermillion, South Dakota. Hence the "boring place" comment. It's a small college town with only a few scenic areas (the others I'll tape when I have nothing else to do).

Some of them look like they're badly compressed.

I love the last few.

The beginning make your town seem gloomy.

They're all great!

Good stuff! I've been through Vermillion a time or two. Boost the contrast on those bad boys and you're in business.

Thanks for the compliments so far.

I spent the evening editing together a short using the footage from last night. All of it was shot in the span of an hour while standing in the same spot. The score was mixed together by me in Soundtrack Pro.

Sunsets looked nice...I saw your were toying with depth of field and lighting in most shots..coolness.

Nice. The last pic of the stills I said to myself that I have seen that Green Acres sign before. Then I read that you are in Vermillion. I just moved here a couple months ago, wife is going to school here. So I just wanted to say hi.

Sinsix-- Hey! I'm actually a freshman at USD, though I'm from Sioux Falls. Cool to see a local on here.

jermz-- Compression on the pics or video? I didn't care about the pics because I wanted them to be easy for everyone to load, but I did try to get good video compression.

May be a dumb question but how do you embed images into your message?
Nice sunset shots by the way...and I LIKE the gloomy approach to your street
