TVLogic VFM-056W only works with CGA-E/625 battery?

Hi,

I own a VFM-056W (with AF100 battery back) and I love it.

Here is the problem:

- It works with the battery supplied by Panasonic with the AF100 (CGA-E/625);

- It does not work with the only other Panasonic branded battery I can find (VW-VBG6);

- It does not work with a generic battery by Lenmar for the AF100 (LIZ307P);

So now I own two batteries that don't work for the monitor.

Has anybody run into this problem?

Is there a reseller that I can order one of the original batteries (CGA-E/625)?

I need another battery for this monitor -- help!

Thanks,

Mark

I just had (yesterday while on a job) the same issues with the TVLogic single battery adapter BB-056P. TVLogic claims it works with 'Panasonic CGA' series batteries, so that is what I ordered. Turns out that neither the AF100 batteries or the other IDX batteries I use will fit this adapter. I had FilmTools overnight the double battery adapter specifically described by TVLogic as being 'for Panasonic AF100' and found it to work as described. However, the IDX batteries are loose in the bracket and the monitor will, if shaken slightly, lose power. So, bottom line is the BB-056P bracket will not work at all with the AF100. The BB-056B will work, but apparently only with original Panasonic batteries. Hope this helps you.

Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately, except for the original battery, I cannot get any other battery to work with the dual adapter (BB-056B).

Frankly, at this point, I wouldn't mind if a battery is loose just as long as it worked. So IDX batteries work -- that's good to know.

Thanks. -m

As an update to my earlier post regarding the TVLogic BB-056B dual battery adapter for the AF100, I would like to report that after using it today only one of the battery slots works. The other worked at first, then failed completely. It would seem there is a possible manufacturing issue with these adapters. Haven't had time to communicate with TVLogic directly as of yet, but will when I'm through with the shoot. I'm looking at other options for powering
the monitor at this point. Not sure I'd even trust the AA adapter after this experience.

Yeah, this is a problem. I have another dual adapter on the way to me and an IDX battery. Hopefully it works better. Let me know what your alternate solution is when you decide. Thanks. -m
