TV Travel show--would you shoot 24p or 60i?

Even though I love the 24p mode of the DVX, I'm leaning toward 60i for on location shooting in an upcoming travel venture.

The show, in a nutshell, combines humor and travel in a very loosey goosey, informal, run-and-gun format.

Two reasons:
1. It will match 60i footage from one of my smaller Panny consumer cameras.
2. 60i feels more immediate, less stutter effect when panning, etc. More of a reality TV look.

I must admit I'm not a big fan of interlaced footage...but it may work for this project.

Thoughts?

30p would be my vote here. This mode allows a wide range of velocity work in post and retains a great deal of the cinematic feel of 24p without the lag.

We're using CineFrame 30p on a Sony Z1U documentary now and I use it for news and documentary stuff on the DVX100a all the time. Test it and I'm sure you'll agree.

Thanks. I haven't shot much 30p, but it sounds like what the doctor ordered. I will shoot some test footage this weekend.
