TV Spot/ 1min recut trailer "Memories of Tomorrow"

Still digging this and a much better cut in my opinion; still, I'd think the quick strobe shots would best be served at the end of the tralier instead of the middle.

Nevertheless, I'm interested in this; looks solid.

thanks for that...the strobing effect did not fit towards the end {i tried... honestly :D} so had to retain some structure to it.

keeping fingers crossed with overseas distribution deals, otherwise i might go for Netflix custom DVD or might try tying up with a DVD manufacturer to sell it over Net.

Wonderful work. From what I've seen , it's intriguing.
I like your composition and natural visuals. The acting
is above par too. Look forward to seeing it, and the type
of music you use.

I'm working with a composer now who'd be amazing -
it's just the kind of atmospheric , and thematic films he
excels at (too late he's booked :-} )

New Zealand's coming on strong - film wise . Good luck mate.

hi d and g

thanks for the comments..tried to cut the trailer in synch with the mood and rhythm of the movie itself. :D

hmmm....would love to hear some work of the composer you are working with.

cheers

Some off and on audio...

I really like the main actor, he looks great on there. Seems like he could be a pretty good actor.

Show us more!

brandon - yep u r right - the audio goes on and off because it is from the movie itself so it also has some ambience and background from the scenes - thats why it is not 'clean'

and thanks dvpixl..... waiting to hear from a couple of magazines about the movie review - praying that they don't pan the movie altogether

You're almost there. Here's a few things that I noticed:
1. The scene of the guy walking out of the elevator - not that interesting and badly light compared to the other shots. I'd replace it.
2. The strobe effect isn't timed to the heartbeats. Some tweaking need there.
3. The music right after the strobes is too soap opera-like. Sounds a little cheesy. I felt it took away from the drama of the guy screaming "leave me alone".

Overall I thought the Color Correction was fairly consistent and the sounds bites were a good choice. Good luck with the project.

hi bgundu

thanks for the comments
1. >> not an elevator...;-) badly light??? we didn't light it at all..it is supposed to be a night shot while the other shots are day shots
2. >> strobe is timed close to the heartbeat..timing it precisely makes the cut mechanical.
3.>> music choice - well call me cheesy..call me opera like but i love the build up to it and thats why i used it :D afterall music is a personal taste.

thanks a tonne for watching the trailers and commenting on them. really appreciate that.

Probably why he thinks it is badly lit;) I saw this scene too.. it looks very video compared to the other scenes, which looked very film-like..

Well - it was a first time experience for us {afterall this is a debut feature} - which meant some of the footage did look digital till the time we got used to the camera and the way it works..once we got a hang of it - it started looking good.

But overall the end results are satisfactory - more film like than digital. :D can't show everything in the trailer :D

Make the font smaller and more out of center, the font can come out of the corners for example.....

my 2 cents
