Tv show trailer

Hey guys I am currently a junior attending High school in California.

In my high school film class we were separated into groups of four and told to make a TV trailer for an on going mock supernatural TV show.

Watch in HD

The trailer could not be for the shows pilot episode. It had to be one that was aired in the middle of the season enticing viewers to tune in next week and watch the show again. It could not exceed 45 seconds.

We also had to choose a real TV channel that this show would air on such as FOX,NBC,ABC etc.

The whole trailer was filmed over the course of four hours on a Saturday morning. The pre-production lasted for one week. Where as the post took four days.

The trailer was shot on the HVX-200 and edited in Final Cut Studio 2

Director: David Reynosa/ Scott
DP: David Reynosa
Costume Designers: Ashley Vader, Jacob Fletcher
Editor: David Reynosa

Actors: Jacob Fletcher, Ashley Vader, Scott

Looks nice!

Four days of post huh? lol, I always think it's funny when people say what it took on post, and it seems everyone else's workflow must be pretty slow. On our 10 minute short, which was a highly professional production, we only spent a single day getting a rough cut done, and the whole thing was done in four days of editing, including a full 5.1 surround sound mix (we took the stereo mix from the post-sound mixer and threw it out to 5.1 audio with the composer there giving us some feedback as well). Granted the whole post process was just shy of three weeks, but most of that time wasn't working time, it was just waiting around for someone or another to do work (composer, post sound, editor to have free time, etc.). I just don't know what people spend so much time on with post. We did the entire post process on my music video Ignis Fatuus in two days, albeit about 30 hours, but still.

Looks great, though, I'd be interested! Really good work.

thanks man for your comments! I wouldn't say it took four 24 hour days because I only worked on it for about 2 hours a day and I was the only person working on it. Which made it take a little more time. Although it was very fun to do!

your hight school has a film class?
and you're able to shoot with the HVX and edite on FCP?
Man, you guys are lucky. I wish I went to a high school like that.

btw, great trailer. felt like a real production from FOX

wow! looked really nice. I agreee with ryvac, you're very lucky to be able to shoot with an hvx and use FCP. My high school would cringe at half the price of FCP...
