So when you export some is cut off, how do you know how much? Is there a comparison of what is on your computer to what its going to show on tv? Anybody have a picture showing the ratio of full picture compared to viewable picture on tv.

Well tv's are different. What are you using to edit? You should have the option to see title safe and action safe lines... the action safe is the out side box the inside box is the title safe.

And if worse comes to worse, figure 10% smaller for TV (action) safe, and another 10% or so for title safe.

But like Trent said, your editor should have the lines as a built-in.

alright i found the safe lines on vegas. so i should basically try to stay inside of the 2nd ones for titles and first for the framing and everything.. Also, on most cameras exluding the dvx100b, the lcd/viewfinder show what the tv is going to show, correct?

the overscan on an LCD is usually between the full image and TV overscan. But yes stay in the 2nd lines if possible. I usually try todo just to be safe.
