TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

Slightly related, there was a clean shot of some guy using an AF100 with what looked like the 7-14 at the Victoria's Secret show (when Jay Z was walking past).
 
Can anyone confirm on this monitor what is output through the HDSDI when you're using passthrough mode? Is it taking the feed as manipulated by the monitor or is it taking the input signal and pushing it directly to the HDSDI? I ask because one of the great things on this monitor if you're using a DSLR is the scale mode. Will the scaled image come out of the monitor, or will it simply be the 4x3 output in the 16x9 frame that the monitor is scaling up?

Not sure of the scale, but the resolution will be 720.
 
That's fine because the monitor I'm using is the standard Panasonic 17" which is 720p in resolution anyways. Can anybody who has the equipment to quick plug in the monitor confirm my original question? I would be appreciative! :)
 
Film Tools and Vidkey are both advertising $1,495.95 for the TVLogic VFM-056WP on their websites. I spoke to Dave at Vidkey yesterday who said shipments are made fro the TVLogic warehouse in CA.

Update: Dec 20th . . . just bought one from Vidkey for $1350 yesterday. Film Tools quoted the same price.

So nobody has gotten the GH2 to work with Tvlogic and HDMI to HDSDI passthrough? I tried it and ddin't get it to work even after changing the HDMI mode to different settings.

Anybody?
 
TV Logic 5.6 Works with GH-2, you have to get the firmware update by sending it in or visiting TV-Logic
 
hi,

just a short question, I got my tvlogic vfm a few weeks ago, I'm using it with the 5D.

I was unable to get blacks, that clip. Not with false color turned on, range error, etcetc. Also an absolute black (lens caps on) is different than the black on the TvLogic's internal color bars.
Is it possible that the 5D outputs a bit higher than real blacks? Or what could be the problem?
 
Just FYI. The original version of this monitor does NOT do HDMI-to-HDSDI loop thru for PAL. Since I shoot in PAL countires a lot and I really need this feature. I contacted TV Logic USA, and they told me their latest build can now support PAL for the loop thru. They were nice enough to let me send in the monitor and swap out the logic board for me for a small fee. Now my monitor works perfectly with the GH2, whether it is in NTSC or PAL mode.
The director is happy to see his shot on his 17-incher.
