TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

I'm really upset about the sdi loop thru not working with my GH2. That was they key selling point fot me. I guess this is because the hdmi signal is crippled. I tested an hdmi splitter and that seems to work, it's just that it needs power and it's more junk hanging off my rig.

Anybody else feel that the TV logic Acrylic Screen Protector is too glossy? Even with the Hoodman sunscreen, I find it almost impossible to work with.

Impossible NOT but difficult yes.

I prefer this instead of scratch the panel. Unless you choose a soft screen on the panel .

I'm going to try putting an anti-glossy film over the screen protector. Hopefully that solves the problem. I have to say the SmallHD screen protector wasn't nearly as glossy and far easier to view while shooting exteriors.

Hey Dino,

By chance are there any other distributors that are offering this who don't do business in CA? Just wondering because of the tax thing. Thanks!

OK now I'm p!ssed ! Received my VFM-056WP yesterday, paid a whack to have it sent by UPS 'next day delivery' only to discover its the previous version firmware 0006 & 0007, and now I realise it is a Dealer only upgrade, but I'm told I'm 'lucky' because I get one 'free upgrade' ( nothing 'free' about the €70 shipping required to send it over & back by regular courier not to mention the 6 days ) ... WTF ????

What complete BS !!! This reminds me of the days when Hasselblad firmware upgrades used to be dealer only, some dealers charged, they quickly changed their tune, and now its a simple download & free.

TV Logic ... WISE UP !! If Small HD put some scopes in their DP6 and fix a few niggles, you're in BIG trouble !!

Tvlogic 056 firmware updates

Tvlogic 056 firmware updates

A couple of notes regarding the TVLOGIC 056 firmware:

The latest updates for the TVLOGIC 056 are:
Gen_V0.0.0.9
FPGA_V0.0.1.1

As far as customer updates go, we've updated our customer's monitors at every update available, at no cost. We've never received any direction from TVLOGIC that customers were only entitled to one free upgrade - that'd be crazy! We've even done firmware upgrades on set, and for customers who bought their monitors from elsewhere but their accessories from us.

There are now 056 battery plates available for:
- Sony "L" Series DV Batteries
- Panasonic "BP" Series DV Batteries
- Canon "LP-E6" Series Batteries
- Panasonic 'CGA' series DV batteries
- Dual Battery Bracket compatible with Panasonic AF-100 batteries
- AA Batteries

Thank you,

Chris Murphy

Hi Jeff,

A couple of questions, do you know if the monitor can be shipped to Australia with this deal? And if so any idea how long delivery takes?
Also, re: batteries, do you know how long the Canon vs the Panasonic batteries last in the monitor?

Cheers
Amanda

Amanda -

Preco is pretty tough about where dealers ship product. As a dealer ourselves, they won't let us ship out of country because they feel strongly that consumers deal with vendors in their own area because if there's ever an issue, you need an update, it's going to have to go back to that local dealer.

But I'd think the local dealer would be inclined to honor the group by. We do, anyhow.

Chris

Awesome! If the color is better than the DP4 and DP6 then I'm in. I have issues with color and I need all the help I can get :-)

So I got the monitor 2 months ago from film tool. Tested it in my house everything look great.
Tonight, I was preparing my equipments for tomorrow shoot. I turned on the monitor, I found that there are two yellow circle spots on the upper left corner of the screen. (About size of a 10 cents, faded)
I had let it warm up for 15min the spots are still there. Connected with/without image, the spots are still there.
It has been keep inside a pelican case since day 1, it has that Acrylic Filter too. Never been drop or hit by anything.

Does this happen to anyone before? Is it a small defect? should I return it for a new one?
Thanks
