TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

Me too. They sent out overseas every bit of accessorie I asked them. Very good customer service.

always had good luck with 'em .. and they're in Burbank .. so that helps. FYI, they're having a "B" stock TVlogic sale
for stuff they had at NAB.

Filmtools wont return my call. Are they still doing this? If they dont f'ing call me back, i'm going to call VidKey.

Well I got a quote last week from Filmtools to send a 56WP, screen, hood and AA battery shell to Australia for a shipping cost of $374.00. It only weighs 0.67lb.
I told them I have had Varicam kits delivered to Australia for less than that. When I complained to sales and the company owner Stan McClain, I got an email back saying the dispatch guys has calculated the wrong dimensions on the box and they halved the cost. I wasn't happy though and I haven't proceeded with the order.

It is obvious that it was mistake. Did the shipping calculator give you that ammount or by email ?

For an order of mine they offer me DHL alternative (much cheaper than UPS) before they release it in the automatic calculator. I found them honest enough.

That was DHL. I guesss UPS would have been dearer. But even at the final quote of $166.00, that it is highest delivery price I can find anywhere for a product so small and light.

Actually I'm starting to think a Sound Devices PIX240 with it's built-in 5" monitor might be a better overall value.

I know what you mean but's it's swings and roundabouts. It won't do all the things the TV Logic will do, but for another grand or so you get a 10-bit Flash recorder with great audio capabilities (and a monitor).

No doubt. I'm a huge Sound Devices fan. It was a serious question about if the monitor afforded any analysis. If it does, then that's a clear leg-up.

Finally I have all power solutions in my hands.

Two replacements for PANASONIC CGR-D16S 2200mAh at a price of 12$ each (including global shipping) for using the monitor at situations that weight is critical and
3 replacements for PANASONIC CGA-D54S 5400mAh at a price of 18 $ each (including shipping) for hours of use without concern .

I feel very happy indeed for these solutions. I use the same charger for my camera and for the Panasonic "D" batteries as Hahnel provided me with a plate for these ones save me the money and the space in my cases.

Much much better solutions than "slim" batteries or LP-E6 that are draining too fast.

TV Logic now has a dual AF100 battery holder bracket for the VFM-056, the BB-056B, priced at $170. This bracket and battery combination should power the monitor for a full day of shooting, I would think.

New firmware with many features, including vector magnification available in approximately two weeks.

That new bracket has the same price as that for Canon LP-E6 batteries.

I still can't get why they sell a piece of plastic at that price when other brackets for the same monitor cost almost 1/3 of $170.
It's outrageous.

Outrageous pricing for film/television equipment? Hard to believe! Seriously, I think many of the TV Logic accessories are ridiculously priced, and some are of dubious quality/usability.

Where did you see the AF100 adaptor Jeff? I can't find it anywhere.

Well, screw it, I decided to make my own double LP-E6 mount out of two of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Travel-Batt...&ps=63&clkid=492267964563365085#ht_2505wt_905

These cheap chargers (I have about eight already, for different batteries) use battery-specific plates that just snap into generic wall outlet backs. Should be no problem really, just take a little time to make it pretty. $170? Sheeeit...

In case you do it please publish the way you did it. Sometimes companies have to understand that customers are not fool and like to pay whatever is worthing not **** for flowers.....

I wouldn't go with LP-E6 unless I allready had a lot of those batteries . They are too expensive and they do not last a lot.

With less money that cost one LP-E6 I bought three replacements for Panasonic D54s that last for many many hours....eachone. Three of them gave me a full day of shooting without problem.

And if you want to go light as a feather you can buy smaller D panasonic almost like LP-E6 batteries with 1/3 of the money....

Hopefully I'll remember to do a write-up. I already have a bunch of LP-E6 batteries, most being $20 copies. I like their size, and will look at a single battery back (first testing longevity) to keep things as light and compact as possible. If the monitor can run an hour or two continuously from a single battery, that'll be good enough for me.

I also have Tekkeon batteries that I've thought about velcroing to the monitor, but that'd be ugly, and relatively large. I've run an 8" Lilliput all day from one of those, and barely put a dent in the charge.

Just ordered the adaptor from Vidkey (good guys!) I have two new AF100 batteries and a dual charger, which I tried to sell on eBay four times without success. So now I'll have a good use for them. But I hate carrying multiple battery/chargers on location. Now I've got AF100 batts, F3 batts and V-locks.

Is there a wireless remote control? Or is another remote control compatible, or are there plans for a future remote control?
I find using a remote super convenient when using these monitors, for many reasons you can guess at, and some of the other LCD manufacturers do offer a remote control.
