TV Logic VFM-056 5.6" HD LCD Monitor Group Buy

Is there anywhere in Canada to get this deal?

Filmtools ships to Canada. Just be prepared for brokerage fees unless you get them to use your own courier acct and you have a broker.

For Canadians closer to the border you can ship to a letter carrier in the US and bring it in yourself.

Got my new monitor the other day and it's pretty darn good.
Sometimes it has a mind of it's and doesn't want to cooperate, hopefully a new firmware will take care of it being finicky at times.
But great picture, waveform is great and very little tweaking out of the box.

Could you give us an idea of what anomalies you've experienced? I've never had any issues with my LVM-071W or WFM-056WP to date.

The only image tweak I made was raising chroma level, which I didn't have to do on my 7" model.

So far i have only used it with my 5d and it's very inconsistent where hooked up through hdmi then looped through sdi out it will sometimes not give me picture when I turn it on, no picture when I hit the record button, no picture on the client monitor when I play back, yesterday it happened a lot.
Hopefully today it will be happier.
But out of the box, this is a great monitor and I like it more than my dp6.

crs127, I have again forwarded your issues to Preco. I have asked them to address your situation directly. Sorry about the problems with your 5D. I had a GH2 yesterday for some testing and my 23" HDMI monitor(HP computer display) was intermittently going black, my Ki Pro wasn't interested in dealing with the HDMI signal at all.

Is your TV Logic image solid when connected to your 5D2, but not looping to another monitor via the converted output?

crs127, here's a response from Preco on shooting with 5D2:

we found an issue where you cycle going in and out of record with the 5D. Sometimes the monitor locks to the HDMI, sometimes not. The factory just released a new firmware version yesterday, that increases the dwell time at the monitor's HDMI input. It seems to have solved the problem.

We just got back from the HPA show in Palm Springs. During the show there was a panel on shooting video with DSLR's. This same issue that you described came up in the context of using HDMI splitters after the 5D.

They also said that firmware upgrade tools are arriving, so each reseller should have one soon, if not already. Hopefully this HDMI to HD-SDI converted output feature will be fully sorted shortly. I always use HD-SDI loop with the AF100, but HDMI to HD-SDI converted output should be working correctly with the AF100. Obviously, this HDMI to HD-SDI converted output was feature designed primarily for DSLR's--yet another workaround not needed with true video cameras like AF100's.

Jeff-
I know it's a little early since we ganged up on the Preco rep at Snader's video expo, but have you received any feedback on the 2x gain upgrade for the vectorscope?
