Hey Guys,
Below you'll find the YouTube link to a commercial I shot this past Jan. for the local WB Affiliate here in Wichita, KS. The spot was shot on a DVX100 (the 1st release, no A or B) and was color corrected in After Effects 6.5. It recently won a 1st place award from the Kansas Association of Student Broadcasters . I'd love to get your comments on it!

Thanks,

Who did the voice over? He sounded just like THE guy I always hear in tv commercials. So cool. Very nice.

Thanks for the comments guys :-) John I was kind of nervous about doing the green screen/ edge of the building effect to. Needless to say it was a great learning experience, so I can apply what I learned in the future. We had a $0 budget so everything was done creatively rather than properly...

idv, the book is actually "When God Doesn't Make Sense" with a cover I made in photoshop. Sorry :-(

Wonderedby: The guy who did the VO does do commercial VO work for applebees and the like, his name is Carl Bjorgen and he's located in MN.

Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate it

Good job!

If I had to pick at it, there are 3 things...

The shadow bugged me. It looked rotoscoped. It should be more subtle.

The audio was off. (ADR?) Could be the internet encoding.

The reflector on the roof was bouncing around a lot. It must have been windy.

Now for the positives:

Great sound. I think everyone agrees having a "real" VO talent adds a lot. Good nat sounds too.

Good color pallatte/color correction. Great choice of colors, harmonious and unified. Not loud or distracting.

The graphics were great. Simple, clean and professional. I love the framing on the freeze frame where you see the end of the rope. Great!
