Armed with two Af100 we covered a fun filled evening with 12 ad and design creatives as they battle it out in the kitchen. And Yes.... edited in FCPX.

We used the V setting
-2 Ped.
Detail -4

And we both had the Red 18-50 lens, and near the end I used the voigtlander 25mm.

Oh... it was cut on FCPx which I'm totally digging.

So after shooting this with Bob, I do not in any way envy you guys who make a living shooting events / weddings… You're made of stronger stuff than I. Shifting light, crowded room, heavy cam -I was of course over-rigged, and 'if' I was ever do this again the cam would be stripped right down to bare minimum (Body - lens - maybe evf).
But even with that pain in the back, you could get used to it and do some really decent stuff with the AF100 and an 18-50 manual cine style zoom in an event setting.

Really happy with the results - In the end it's all about Bob's edit!

Loved it, high energy and very entertaining ..i was wondering about the zooms and the lens you were using that RED lens does the job ..also at 3.24 whats that attached to the top of the Af100

I was using the DigiOPtics 18-50 and Bob was using the RED 18-50 - same lens just different branding on the barrel. I have both the 18-50 & the 50-150, and I'm happy with them, my clients are happy with them, and so is my accountant… Mechanically they do fall down a bit; not as smooth as high end expensive PL cine zooms, but for the money better suited to the work I do than a still camera zoom without gears or an Iris ring.

At 3:24 that would be Bob's on board LED light; don't remember what make it is. I'm sure he'll jump in when he gets back from shooting in some far off exotic locale...
