yea i bought a used dvx100b today and its firewire doesn't seem to be working. It's not really that crucial to me since i capture through a different cam to my computer but is there any settings i have to switch on in the dvx100 to make the firewire output turn on?

otherwise, its in immaculate condition and it works amazingly

nevermind. great news, i think its my firewire port on my computer thats messed up. i'm gunna try restarting.

yea the cam is fine, the firewire pci card stopped working for some reason. restarting my comp just fixed it

That was lucky. I been using firewire cams for many years, i get a DVX100 use it a few months and the firewire died.

All fun n games til someone looses a firewire port!

the other dvx100 the guy was selling (i bought one) had a problem with the firewire being broken, so i opted for the one that was working lol

I know this is off topic, but wouldn't it be awesome if they made locking firewire ports!

Ugh, I'm near buying a DVX100b, which would be my first prosumer camera. I've been working with a JVC consumer camera since 2004 and the firewire never seems to work with my desktop or laptop(both HPs). However, with my grandma's Compaq, it works perfectly. Go figure right?
