Turnaround time for 4K upgrade at Sony service center LA?

Wondered if anyone knew how long it roughly takes for the upgrade if you just take the camera to the service center? Can you pick it up same day or 2 days?

Just wondering if anyone's done this.

It's fast. For the 3.0 4K upgrade, it took about 1 1/2 days. I then went back for the 3.1 firmware update and Sony LA did it in 4 hours.

Also, calling Sony service number gets your nowhere as it's a call center in the Phillipines. I just drive to the Sony LA and they are very helpful and accommodating.

took me 3 weeks since there's no sony service centre here in austria, so i had to send it over to the UK..

What's in the 3.1 firmware?

i believe gene meant 3.01 which is a bug-free addition to the initial 3.00 version.
