Tuner Card - For importing Video to PC

Right now I have a Huagpauge(or something) that ran $49.99 and it only has S-video and the quality of video isn't that great since it's going from digital to analog and then back to digital...least that my opinion. Well my video camera does have composite(i think - the black plug) and i should be going that route. Unless there is something else i am missing should that be all im looking for in a new Tuner card? Or is there somehting else out there strictly for Mini DV cameras.

Mini DV In/Out IEEE1394 - is that firewire? Crap i can just buy a firewire card - unless im mistaken.

IEEE 1394 is firewire. So head on over to Newegg.com and buy a cheap firewire card and you're good to go.
