MUSIC VIDEO: Tumblin Into You (Music Video)

No one? So let me give a little bit more information about the shoot. I pretty much did everything myself; direction, cinematography, and the editing which took me another week with a very intense work load. The party at the end was almost exclusively done with the Nokton 25mm f/0.95 lens, which I found amazinglt versatile. My intent was to use more lenses that night, but because of the time constraints, I tried to do as much as possible with one lens, which turned out to be everything, except for the overhead shots :) Those were done with Zeiss ZF 18mm f/3.5.

I also used the Samyang 85mm f/1.4, which I find amazing value for money.

About the artist: He grew up in an american sect, and later broke out of it; today he has no contact with his family. This entire album, called 'Thou Mayest' (a concept discussed by John Steinback in East of Eden) talks about that experience: How he lerned to break free from the rules and constraints of the sect ('Thou Shalt') and realise he had choices in life. Great album, outstanding lyrics.

First, never use plain white text against a moving background. It's almost impossible to see. Use some drop shadow and design it in a way that's clearly readable.

0:12 - Her skin looks purple. Might want to try color correction to fix that.

0:14 - He looks incredibly pale in skin tone compared to her. Can you adjust that in color correction? Colorista II (if you have it) would help in isolating his or her skin tone (either tan him up or whiten her out). Otherwise, Apple Color or even try DaVinci Resolve Lite (free, but a steep learning curve)

0:29 - This shot has been moved from off-center, and it has a half border around the bottom left portion.

0:40 - Lip syncing is off

0:42 - Purple skin returns

1:04 - Still off with the lip sync (this could possibly be an error in the YouTube version...did you export with 44.1 or 48k? I would never export at 44.1k as it seems to introduce these problems).

1:42 - She looks underexposed, bring up the midtones to help her stand out more.

1:43 - This shot looks out of focus and the colors seem wonky. Continues with the very next shot.

1:51 - This girl has paler skin (along with blonde hair) and is severely overexposed. And you use this shot multiple times.

2:01 - The girl with the fire looked cool, but cuts way too fast. Is there something wrong with that shot?

2:06 - More overexposure on the guitarists' head.

2:07 - Better exposure on the guitarist, but it looks like someone brings a reflector to bare on him right before you cut.

2:13 - The background of this shot is now gray and doesn't look like sky. Colors are off.

2:15 - White backing on banjo is overexposed.

2:22 - This is the best shot of your artist in that Captain America t-shirt I've seen, which contrasts with his other appearances beforehand. Typical of the problem of everyone looking different in almost every shot because the video is not color balanced as a whole.

Does the ending with the text over the shirt have any significance? It struck me as random, but perhaps I'm missing something. Just an FYI, unless you designed that shirt (or the artist or someone associated with the video), then that's copyrighted content.

I sense there's some kind of story going on, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was. Did the lyrics spell it out? I was mostly just watching the video and not paying attention to what is sung, so maybe it works better in conjunction.
