TT3 Trailer - My first Project using the DVX100a

Heres a trailer I made for the 3rd installment of a series of dance videos I made. It was my first project using the DVX so I'm just looking for a lil constructive criticism on it. Its a non-profit film I'm doing just for fun and to get my feet wet using the camera and equip. The music was from The matrix score and planet funk.

Camera: Panasonic DVX-100a
Editing Prog:Sony Vegas 6.0
Frame Rate: 24 progressive Scan (2:3:3:2)

Looks good. It cut out on me tward the end though. MOV is a better universal viewer to use. (I find anyway).
Good work though.

dude leave the opening text on screen long enough for viewers to read. got a whole sentence on screen for 2 seconds.

Awesome Job, Shokaveli. To me, the look, sound, effects, were all top notch...

I second Stylz' comment though about some of the wording going too fast.

Nice work my friend.

thanks again, and about the text, yea i figured it went by too fast but I didnt want to make the file any larger and thats why I made it like that. But what the hell I think a few more seconds wouldnt have affected the file size too much anyway :undecided . Thanks for the feedback though I appreciate it. Im loving the DVX100 I just want to get comfortable with it so I can unleash its full potential! The forums are great by the way, the work here is AMAZING!

That was a hot Trailer it really kept me wanting more. Of course there is this one effect that I think you do just a little to much and that the one were the words "A team has been assembled" comes up and goes away. I think you should cut back just a little bit on that effect

i appreciate all the feedback and yea i think i did overdo that one effect, and as for the matrix music, I really love the score from revolutions its so intense and the sound effects maybe they were too loud?

oh yea i'll get back to you on the font type...

thanks guys

liked it...but i wish i´d seen some actors...for me, a good trailer doesn´t give away too much, keeps me interested and shows me a glimpse of the people/creatures/things involved

finally got to see it and it looks very good. text should last long enough to read twice. my only nitpicks are if this is for "commercial use" then you need permission to use the MPAA approval and the music.

outside of that...topnotch and i personally don't think the sound effects were over done. i guess people forget that the "pros" use sound effects for their trailers. hopefully this will make sense...star wars I,II,III all wannabee filmmakers and editors complained about the overuse of wipes and other transitions. geez did they forget the first star wars episodes???my point...wannabees complain about the hitchcock zoom, the wilhelm, and all kinds of other tech aspects that when the pros do it...ooohhhh sweet...

you are the artist...you do what pleases you...who's to tell you how broad the brush-stroke...sure constructive criticism...like if you used a different sound each time the text appeared then yes stick to one sound or as noted the text duration, but there's no way to make everyone happy. if you try to please everyone you will fail. the person most important to your success is you and how satisfied you are with your work.

there's a big difference between a personal trainer that says "let's go for a couple more reps" and the one who says "that's horrible. nobody does 3 reps and stops."

i say keep up the good work and thanks for inspiring me to change my title sequence ;)
