Trying to upload MTS files to PC

I am trying to upload MTS files to my computer using a Sony SD card reader into AVCCAM Viewer conversion software and the software says "No Images. Insert media where images were properly recorded." The MTS images are on the card. I am trying to figure out why they won't upload into the conversion software. I have done this successfully in all previous attempts. Any ideas on why this is happening?
 
Now all of sudden after five failed attempts, its working. The capriciousness of the digital world is going to drive me crazy in the end.
 
On a side note, "uploading" is the process of transferring a file from a local computer to a remote computer. This is how you get videos onto YouTube, for example.

When both source and destination are local, the correct term is simply "copy" (or "move").
 
Which NLE are you using? I strongly recommend you read the Adobe whitepaper on AVCHD workflow. It applies to Premiere but the concepts relate to any NLE, as well as basic Windows file copying.
 
OP, are you talking about the AVCHD to DVCPro converter from panny or the AVCCAM Viewer software?

What does "NLE" mean? What is the "Adobe whitepaper"?
