trying to color match gh2 to hmc150

this is impossible. the footage off the gh2 just looks so good! the colors are so accurate right off the camera. i can't get my other camera angle from the hmc150 even close! Is this because the sensor is just so much bigger on the gh2 that it is nearly impossible to match shots?

I hear ya, it is very tough. I actually was shooting in this exact same situation a little bit ago, and just try to match as much as you can in cam (as far as coor wise), and then just carefully color correct the hmc footage to match the gh2, then go on to your grade from there. Here is the video where I mixed gh2 footage with hmc. You can tell, but I don't think its too glaring. Took hours and hours to get them even decently matched though..

not bad man, the colors look very close, i think it's the blacks and whites of the 2 cameras in general, not just in your video, that are so different.

I haven't spent a huge amount of time trying, but the closest I got was using the 'Spark" setting on the HMC, and "vibrant' on the gh2. The adjusting the blue contrast on the GH2 shots. Came out reasonably well. There's probably a way to do it with flatter profiles too.
