going to shoot footage at our greek festival this weekend with 170. going to use a small light panel led on it.
need a safe setting to shoot some good footage i can put to standard dvd. 1080 would be overkill.
should i shoot in 720? which setting? dont really want to use filmlook, more hd video look.
suggestions.
dont really want to mess with settings, just some good footage.
have been shooting with a pd170 which does some good stuff, but since i have my hands on this, might as well try it.

if you want HD "video" look, go 1080i
if you want a happy medium, 720p

if you want to AVOID film look, just stay away from 24

720p60. More than enough info for SD. Scales nicely. Can be interlaced into 60i. If you decide to go with 30p on DVD (which is not directly supported by DVD spec, but you can hope on player's deinterlacer) then you can slowdown 60p footage to 0.5 speed.
