just got my dvx100 today, but when i try to record it says try to record, it says "EXTERNAL DV DISCONNECT" and it wont record.... someone please help me out. thanks.

Look in your menus under 7.OTHER FUNCTION
DV CONTROL should be set to off. It sounds like this might be set to EXT and is looking for an external recording device.

Yes, you are correct, This happened to me tonight on my first shoot. Luckily I remembered I had changed this setting earlier because I could get my pc to recognize my computer. I went to the menu and switched it to off and it worked.
